POSITION SUMMARY:  Academic Oversight Specialists thrive on collaborating with others to innovate. As an Academic Oversight Specialist, you will work with project teams to ensure that BJU Press materials are academically rigorous. You will help plan for product revisions and also help execute on those plans. Your day-to-day tasks might include researching standards and best practices, reviewing manuscripts to check for objectives alignment and the use of educational strategies, and attending meetings to craft instructional design in planning a revision.


  • Work alongside writers and other team members to produce materials that support the BJU Press mandates for biblical worldview formation and Academic Rigor supported by educational technology.
  • Research the teaching of academic disciplines to determine appropriate instructional design informed by best practice teaching strategies/pedagogy.  
  • Meet weekly with the manager to plan projects, give updates, and receive direction.
  • Meet regularly with teams to evaluate progress, plan success, and provide accountability for Academic Rigor.
  • Support classroom teachers and homeschool parents as needed by responding to telephone and email inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Promote BJU Press materials as needed for VIP (Vision, Inspiration, and Purpose) guests, onsite conferences, video conferences, and BJU courses.
  • Assist BJU Press in promoting Academic Rigor as needed
