University Criminal Justice Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide student instruction from a Biblical worldview for undergraduate courses in criminal justice. Advise students on academic matters and perform service duties as needed within the division or academic college.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Teach a wide variety of criminal justice courses (including class preparation, grading, and other related teaching activities)
  • Maintain course syllabi and post on the intranet/Canvas for each class
  • Maintain regular posted office hours to be available to students
  • Participate in divisional meetings and activities
  • Maintain thorough and current faculty portfolio
  • Attend required meetings (including chapel, faculty/staff meetings, and convocations)
  • Engage in professional development activities

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of teaching field
  • Effective in oral and written communication
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
  • Possess and communicate a Biblical worldview and integrate it into subject matter
  • Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues
  • Professional in appearance and presentation

Required Education: Master's degree
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
