University Cinema Guest Lecturer

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide student instruction with a Christian worldview for undergraduate courses in Cinema Production, with special emphasis in film editing

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach assigned course (including class preparation, grading, and other related teaching activities)
  • Communicate the religious beliefes of BJU to students and student affiliates
  • Answer questions concerning faith, doctrine and creed of BJU to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJU

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of teaching field, particularly non-linear film and video editing using Avid software
  • Prove a high level of skill in film and video editing with special emphasis on the editorial elements of film construction
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in oral and written communication
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
  • Possess and communicate a biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matter
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues
  • Master's degree in Film- preferred

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
