IT Service Desk Technician (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide technical support for computer systems on campus by repairing, replacing, and deploying hardware and software components while providing answers to questions relating to support.

             Please note:  3 references required when applying for this position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide solutions to users’ issues with computer hardware and software
  • Research computer issues and offer resolutions
  • Maintain documentation in database of service calls
  • Pursue self-education/development to enhance skills and abilities
  • Must be punctual and accountable
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be 18 years old with a valid driver's license
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Aptitude for training and developing users
  • Ability to proactively identify tasks that need to be done
  • Ability to follow instructions and to pay attention to details
  • Working knowledge of basic MS Office applications
  • Desire and aptitude to learn new technologies
