School of Religion Research & Co-Curricular Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:  Plan and execute academic and instructional initiatives in the School of Religion, including annual paper competition; support associate dean and faculty with research and writing; coordinate recruitment and interaction with prospective students; provide support for faculty teaching load.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research projects and writing, including research for the dean
  • Supporting faculty academic loads
  • Student coaching program
  • Kerux – developing a highly desirable student preaching brand
  • Strategic student identification
  • Recruiting for School of Religion, including promotion of double majors and dual degrees
  • Other tasks as needed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Passion for the mission of BJU
  • Ability to multitask
  • Effectiveness in oral and written communication
  • Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Initiative, self-motivation and a strong work ethic
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Theological inclination and ability
  • Experience organizing, planning, staffing, and marketing events
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally push/pull up 25 lbs. 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree; Must be enrolled in a post-graduate program at BJU
