POSITION SUMMARY: Counsel, serve, and assist students in seeking the most effectual student aid available while processing federal student aid.


  • Maintain a workable knowledge of federal, institutional and state financial aid programs
  • Counsel and advise students by phone and in-person regarding Pell and federal loan eligibility
  • Assist in counseling students in the School of Continuing, Online, & Professional Education regarding federal aid eligibility including Federal Pell Grant and federal loans
  • Perform quality control reviews to confirm admission status, academic year in school and all information required for eligibility and processing for the Federal Pell grant and federal student loans.
  • Assist in processing Pell Grant and federal loan originations and disbursments
  • Work with current Financial Aid Staff to process federal student aid for eligible students
  • Assist the Financial Aid Office by answering phone calls, responding to email or meeting with students 


  • Knowledge of Federal Aid process, preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Understand computer operating systems and desktop applications
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • Effective in oral and written communication 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: 1-2 years
