BJA Secondary English Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide student instruction from a biblical worldview for upper level high school courses in the English department, advise students and parents concerning academic matters, and perform service duties as needed within the school.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSILIBITES:

  • Teach assigned courses (e.g., Junior English)
  • Support activities related to the school
  • Maintain student academic grades and reports
  • Responsible for students during structured activities
  • Monitor for achievement testing
  • Perform extra-curricular functions
  • Attend Chapel and Academy faculty meetings 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in secondary education preferred
  • Advanced degree in area of teaching plus appropriate experience preferred
  • Encouraged to maintain a teaching certificate by either the State of South Carolina or the American Association of Christian Schools

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of teaching field
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
  • Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
  • Ability to communicate a biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matter
  • Ability to adapt to a digital environment to learn the school management system

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
