Fonts and Text Permissions Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: As Fonts and Text Permissions Specialist, your primary responsibilities will be receiving requests for fonts and text permissions from Permissions Manager and to research,  acquire, and document fonts and text permissions for BJU Press products. Occasionally you will assist with photo permissions and research.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive fonts and text permission requests from Permissions Manager for current projects and reprint projects
  • Research all requests for current and reprint projects
  • Contact outside vendors and acquire permission and contracts to use the fonts and text
  • Obtain checks and pay outside companies if there is a cost
  • Obtain fonts for Content Development in a timely manner
  • Keep track of ongoing contract issues, such as dates for contract renewals on fonts and text permissions Excel charts
  • Document and file all correspondence and information for each project
  • Acquire permissions for Distance Learning Online, eBooks, and Look-In-The-Book websites
  • Be aware of copyright/trademark laws
  • May be required to help with photo permissions or other departmental tasks as needed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge about font licensing is required
  • Experience in filing, letter writing and paying bills
  • Some knowledge of copyright/trademark law is preferred
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to remember data and procedures
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in internet searching
  • Experience in filing, letter writing and paying bills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
