Qualitative Research Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: The Qualitative Research Analyst will develop and implement qualitative research projects for BJU Press and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will center on conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups and will require excellent people skills. This person will also assist with providing analysis of data received via post-discussion surveys.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Moderating focus groups, conducting in-depth interviews
  • Planning research design and implementation, including preparing discussion guides and screeners
  • Maintaining analysis, interpretation, and reporting process for qualitative research
  • Preparing and presenting findings reports, including recommendations for product revisions
  • Recommending courses of action for quantitative research studies based on findings from qualitative research Handling logistics for qualitative research projects--recruiting, facility reservation and interaction, payment, etc.
  • Maintaining comprehensive notes and assisting with recording and transcription
  • Assisting as needed in quantititative research studies
  • Staying abreast of latest issues and trends in marketing research and in education
  • Conducting competitor analyses
  • Fielding comments and feedback in venues such as VIP and Exchange

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Highly motivated, "people" person; personable
  • Proven presentation skills
  • Good organization skills; detail oriented; flexibility
  • Good writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Knowledge of educational terms and demographics preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in marketing research preferred
  • Experience and training in data analysis preferred
  • Some experience with BJU Press materials a plus
  • Teaching experience a plus

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
