Maintenance Electrician (Printing Division)

POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of Mechanical systems,  Aux. components of machinery and equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyors and equipment using mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications for troubleshooting.
  • Assist with installing new machines and equipment.
  • Repair mechanical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as  motors, gearboxes, and  conveyors by inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine mechanical preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Repair and replace faulty mechanical components by using testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Maintain mechanical equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserve mechanical maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Degree or related experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks, requiring good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral communications skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately define task parameters and objectives, then gather detailed, relevant data from appropriate sources
  • Strong familiarity with mechanical diagrams and illustrations
  • Outstanding acquaintance with safety, health, and environment regulations

Required Education: Associate Degree
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience preferred
