POSITION SUMMARY: A key member of the video production team, the Motion Graphics Specialist is responsible for creating and manipulating motion graphics, animations, and video for special segments as part of digital content.


  • Research motion graphics/animation/video ideas that are appropriate for the content of each class in order to create an authentic segment
  • Involved with pre-production and post-production tasks, working closely with teachers and production personnel to produce the "right" type of motion graphics for a given class. Need to be creative.
  • Work as liaison between animation department and video specialists
  • Produce and export motion graphics files in the appropriate format for teachers, teacher assistants, and production personnel to insert into digital content
  • Organize motion graphics files on the network to be accessible to teachers and production personnel
  • Stay current in the world of motion graphics production as well as staying current on video post-production editing
  • Organize work time to be able to meet a variety of deadlines
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by the Recording Supervisor


  • Strong knowledge of motion graphics/animation/video field
  • Expert in working with animation software, primarily After Effects
  • Skilled at creating short motion graphics and animation videos
  • Ability to use PowerPoint, Avid, and various audio/video/animation software
  • Ability to collaborate well with other video specialists and teachers on PDG course lessons
  • Ability to work across different computer platforms - Mac and PC
  • Ability to adjust to changes in technology
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in film/video production with emphasis in motion graphics or animation
