Lead Systems Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:  As Lead Systems Architect, you will manage hardware, software, and firmware equipment needs for BJU Press Digital Production.


  • Maintain and develop system to ensure video files are captured and stored for editing, quality control, transcoding, and archiving
  • Manage workflow tools and databases
  • Manage SAN, NAS, servers, and tape archive systems
  • Stay current in video production as well as being current with post-production editing
  • Oversee and manage all of the studio equipment (AVID, switchers, etc.)
  • Organize work time to be able to meet a variety of deadlines
  • Asisst in special projects as assigned by the Digital Production Senior Manager


  • ReST (Representational State Transfer) API (Application Program Interface) knowledge
  • Knowledge of compression
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Ability to work on PC, Mac, and Linux platforms
  • Ability to adjust to changes in technology
  • Ability to collaborate well with production staff and teachers on PDG course lessons
  • Stay current in video production as well as being current with post-production editing
  • AVID Media Composer and ISIS are a plus
  • Skilled knowledge of working with equipment from a multitude of video production/archival
  • Knowledge of video/film field
  • Bachelor's degree in film/video creation
  • Earned or working towards a master's degree in film editing-- preferred
  • Experience working with CatDV or similar production-centered MAM/DAM
  • Experience working with SAN, NAS, and tape archive
  • Video production experience-- preferred

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: Three to four years related experience
