JourneyForth Product Support Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:  As Support Specialist, you will be responsible for JourneyForth's social media marketing presence as well as department correspondence and clerical functions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with the BJU Press Marketing Department, maintain an active social media presence for JourneyForth by:
    • identifing social media channels
    • writing posts and developing a posting schedule
    • proposing and executing online promotional campaigns
    • seeking third-party channels for JourneyForth book reviews
  • Process unsolicited submissions (log manuscripts, acknowledge receipt, and forward to acquisitions editor); monitor JF email
  • Register all JF titles for Library of Congress cataloging-in-publication
  • Perform office management and product support functions for JF and for the broader Editorial Services group: may include ordering supplies, processing payments, copying and printing, etc. . .
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Editorial Services Senior Manager

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clerical/computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use social media platforms (current and future) effectively for promotional purposes
  • Proofreading aptitude, demonstrated by acceptable performance on the BJU Press editorial test
  • Knowledge of trade book publishing process and terminology helpful

Required Education: Associates's Degree
Required Experience: One to two years related experience
