Interior Designer

POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the facilities team, you will assist in the maintenance of campus property by redesigning interior spaces to be functional, safe, and beautiful. You will be responsible for determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute design and documentation for projects of various sizes and complexities
  • Produce materials and FF&E (furniture, fixture, and equipment) specificiations
  • Present design specifications in a clear and concise format that is understandable to those who will be responsible implementing the plans  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 3D modeling and rendering design skills required    
  • Revit experience required
  • Working proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp (or other 3D software) required
  • Experience preferred in all aspects of interior design including:
    • concept design
    • space planning
    • color and material selection
    • documentation
    • graphic presentations
    • material research and selection
    • FF&E selection and specification
  • Initiative to execute on self-guided, special initiative projects
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage external vendors, library maintenance, and sample requests
  • Flexibility to evolve with various challenges and directions as new projects and initiatives unfold
  • Excellent problem solving skills accompanied with energy and a positive attitude

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: Three to four years experience
