POSITION SUMMARY:  Assists in developing, maintaining, and providing support for BJU Press distance learning courses and other teacher/student digital resources.

Proofreading Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:  Manages proofreaders and day-to-day proofreading load and prioritization (includes hiring, training, scheduling, and managing temporary/seasonal professional staff and up to 10 part-time student workers); edits or assists with editing BJU press K-12 products as needed and as time and other responsibilities allow.

POSITION SUMMARY:  A key member of the production team responsible for the video aspects of BJU Press Digital Production and Distribution projects. Duties may include but not limited to video recording, audio recording, editing, and location shoots.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Create templates and job files that properly impose electronic pages and PostScript files from the job files; set the RIP up to properly process those files.

BJA Middle School Learning Resource Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide appropriate individualized accommodations as well as instruction in learning strategies for middle school students, advise students, parents, and faculty concerning individualized student plans (ISPs), and perform service duties as needed within the school.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide student instruction from a biblical worldview for assigned middle school history courses, advise students and parents concerning academic matters, and perform service duties as needed within the school.

Writers Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  Oversees the writing of educational materials for specified product lines, grades 1-12. Works to inculcate into each product the BJU Press mandates for Bible integration, comprehension-based education (academic rigor) with the teacher as the key. POSITION SUMMARY:  Works with all BJU Press departments and acts as a liaison between business users, vendors, and IT developers. Translates high level business needs into actionable requirements and work statements. Serves as a subject matter expert for the BJU Press operational supply chain. Facilitates communication between BJU Press departments and Information Technologies. Serves as a project manager for technical projects that impact BJU Press systems.

Page Layout Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:  As a BJU Press page-layout specialist, you have a part in creating textbooks and other K-12 educational products as you place text and images into Adobe InDesign templates. The materials are all prepared for you—it’s your job to bring them together on the page. You work with an editor and other team members to proof and fine-tune the pages. When your project is finished, you send the files to the BJU Press Printing Division and then look forward to holding the printed book in your hands or seeing your work in the form of a digital textbook.

POSITION SUMMARY: Work for BJU Press Marketing department as a graphic designer. The graphic designer creates print advertising, digital advertising, websites, book covers, signage, package design, page layout, corporate branding and identity, and environmental design.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide student instruction from a Christian worldview for various high school, middle school or elementary courses, fulfill assigned duties, and perform service duties as needed within the school. This position is on an "as needed" basis.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Qualitative Research Analyst will develop and implement qualitative research projects for BJU Press and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will center on conducting in-depth interviews and focus groups and will require excellent people skills. This person will also assist with providing analysis of data received via post-discussion surveys.

POSITION SUMMARY: As a BJU Press editor, you are part of a team that embraces the mission of producing K-12 educational materials with a biblical worldview for Christian schools and homeschools. Your workday might include copyediting a textbook manuscript or marking corrections on the page proofs of a teacher’s edition. As an editor, you are immersed in the details of a project. Your goal is to ensure that the writer’s message is communicated to the target audience clearly and accurately through all the elements of a product--text, graphics, and layout.

Distribution Center Order Filler (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Order Filler is responsible for quickly and accurately picking the correct items and quantities from the flow rack and packing them properly into the correct box on the pick line, according to the box plan.

HOURS REQUIRED:  Minimum of 10 hours per week. All work is done between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday.  No evenings or weekends.  BLOCKS OF TWO HOURS are needed (preferably in the afternoon).  They do NOT need to be the same two hours each day.

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Packer/Offloader scans, packs and seals all boxes coming through the picking line, loads the UPS trailer, prepares palletized orders for LTL shipments and delivery orders and assists at the customer pick-up window when needed.

Editorial Services Proofreader (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY:  A proofreader assists the project editors by checking and reading page proofs of BJU Press products. The proofreader increases the value of the products through catching errors and inconsistencies, ensuring the product’s conformity to BJU Press style, lowering production costs through working efficiently and attentively, and using standard departmental procedures and guidelines. When not busy proofreading, a proofreader reviews BJU Press policies and procedures and other appropriate reference materials or performs related tasks as directed by the editorial supervisor.

POSITION SUMMARY: Script writer for the BJU Press Digital homeschool videos:  Script formats include monologues, dialogues, narration, documentary-style shows, game shows, commercials, etc.
